New theme…

July 30, 2005

Yeah yeah new theme….Juts felt like the old one needed a change so went for nice cool blue!
Maybe a theme for the month of August….
Work is going fine and one more week left after that its all shopping for people in Colombo. Then I have to finish up with university stuff before I leave like defering the payment and all.

When we were finalising our ticket plans it seems that we have a day transit in Singapore which is awesome becuase I get to see two countries now. My friend left for Singapore from Sri Lanka to study so it is good to meet him on the way too. In fact he was very jealous when I told him that I was leaving for Sri Lanka and I get to meet my friends after a 2 year break but now hes lucky that I get to meet him too….. The most fabulous thing is we have an all expenses payed hotel too while we are at Singapore becuase of the transit thingy so Singapore Airlines is paying for the hotel. Goody!

I just cant wait for this upcomming week to end so that I just cant get into the real feel of going to Colombo.

Ah Aah music by A R Rehman surely rocks. After a long break he has given a blast. I love the songs Ararai Kodi, Mayilirage and Thazhuvudu…..
If any of you guys are interested in listening to some different kinda tamil songs unlike the ones you normally hear listen to Ah aah.

Thoughts on Half Blood Prince…

July 23, 2005

Harry Potter
Okay atlast after a week long battle with Harry Potter I finally finished it today!
I took the book with me to work to find some time to read it but couldnt really do it but then I set my mind yesterday to simply finish it and today I am done!

On whole I thought the book was well written. I didnt feel like sleeping when I was reading it but I really liked the story. I never expected Snape to be the Prince and also even though I knew Dumbledore was dieing in this book before I even started reading it ( thanks to my friends who only read the last chapter) I never thought he would be killed by Snape.

But I thought after Dumbledore was killed no one really took much care about him except Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid and Lupin. Mr and Mrs Weasley were mostly concerned about Bill’s wedding even though they just heard the news that Dumbledore died. In my decent memory Dumbledore was a helping hand to everybody and alot of times to the Weasleys. But they didnt seem to be much moved by his death. He seemed like a person who was used when he was needed and then simply forgotten when he was gone. That kinda irritated me.

The romances at Hogwarts were kinda reminding me of Woburn where more than love there is more physical connection like Ron and Lavender and I liked the fact that those two broke up. I had a chuckle to myself that hopefully those who were kissing in the hallways at Woburn so vulgarly would end up like Lavender and Ron.

Anyways I wish the 7th book came with the 6th so I dont need to wait so long to read the end of the whole Harry Potter saga. After I finished the 6th book I really wanted to know what would happen next but unfortunately eventhough the book is already written its not out yet!

Anyways Have fun guys! 15 MORE DAYS TILL I LEAVE FOR SRI LANKA! YIPPIE

What a memorable day it was….

July 18, 2005

Hey guys….
I havent written something for a long time but I think this post is going to be quite long compensating my absence…..

Soph, Ross and I always wanted to hang out together during the summer holidays. It was prefered that only we three hang out together as we consider us as lifelong true friends. And also I think during the days Ive spent in Woburn, those three are the ones that I can call as lifelong friends and openly disuss anything while the others are just friends who are there for you if they need homework help.

So after so many days of struggle to get the perfect day for our hangout (as I had my summer job during the weekdays and Soph had hers during the weekends while Ross had it both during week days and weekends) we decided on doing it on friday the 15th.

So on friday after my job ended at 1.30pm my dad drove me to Andrew’s house. After I went to Andrew’s house we both went to the bus stop to pick up Soph. Soph arrived 15 minutes later and we headed back to Andrew’s house.

So for the first hour we went in the backyard and we talked about different topics sitting on the trampoline. Soph had her own adventure getting used to Tundra, Andrews cool dog! We talked about the last days of high school, the upcomming university life and the people we met in highschool for a while.
Me and Andrew at the back yard..

Then we decided on starting our adventure on the much awaited paddling trip in Andrew’s canoe. Andrew’s mother drove us to the Rouge river and taught us how to get in and how to keep our weight lowered in the boat. And guess what we started paddling! Woohoo!
getting ready to paddle

At first we paddled a short distance where the river ended up in the lake. We spent a little bit time wading and throwing stones into the water. Then me and Andrew decided on going to the other side of the river by just walkign through the water which at the end seemed to be an impossible task!

Then again we got into the canoe and paddled to the other side of the river and had some fun sayign ‘we made it to Pickering!’. After that we paddled again but this time in the opposite direction in the Rouge river which was a great experience that I would never forget. The nature was so calm, serene and gorgeous and I was lost in it for quite a while. So while we paddled in the river we mainly talked about relationships and our different views on marriage, kids, sex and love. It was quite interesting to see that all three of us had different perspectives on all those above areas.
Nature at its best!

After the wonderful paddle we called Andrew’s mother and she picked us up and we went back to Andrew’s house. We dried our self for few minutes and we headed to the bus stop to go for dinner near the Woodbine beach.

After a rather slow TTC ride and me complaining about going home at 9 or my parents would kill me we went to Woodbine beach more precisely Queen street East to a restaurant called Il Fornello which was a rather small but sweet Italian restaurant. Soph and I had pasta while Andrew had a Pizza.

Then after our dinner wiht me still complaining we headed off to Woodbine beach which was very nice with the cool breeze. There we still talked about various topics but this time we talked more about our parents and our future.
Then at about 9.45 we took the bus back to Woodbine station and during the bus ride we talked about several unsual topics like death, existance of god, rebirth, Da Vinci code and the much awaited Harry Potter.
Then at the Woodbine station Soph headed off west while me and Ross headed off east and we agreed it it was the best time we have ever spent together and we should do this more often.

Personally I felt this was an amazing afternoon and evening. This was the first time I paddled, the first time I lied to my parents saying that I wont go the beach but went to the beach (as they are very scared to let me alone with my friends without adult accompaniment) and the first time we talked about such interesting topics and how we have different opinions on it.
Soph and Ross are great personalities and its a great pleasure to have them as my friends.
I would never forget this wonderful Friday July the 15th 2005.
