Commencement!

October 29, 2005

At last the time I spend at Woburn Collegiate Institute ended officially even though I will visit them when ever I can. Commencement was good and it was great to see all the faces that walked with me the woburn journey; teachers and students. I should say most of them were well dressed and the smiles brought back all the good memories we had to gether.

The commencement started off with Wind Ensemble playing their part and it was great. I thought they did a great job with all the new faces in it. Then the prize giving and then came our Valedictorian, Pranavi’s speech. I thought the speech was very touching and very intersting to hear eventhough I knew she didnt mean it in her heart. I liked it when she said “Jay hows your neck doing?”. It was classic eventhough Jay wasnt present at the ceremony.
Then came the Wild cat song and then we had the reception!
It was all a fun filled evening! and I will miss Woburn afterall I guess eventhough I was saying that i wont and i dont.

Anyways I aced the chem 25% which I ma very happy about! another midterm to go and then back to the routine small tests!
On a last note if anybody has any kinda commencement pictures please send them to me…please dont hesitate.
Enjoy life!

Another boring week!

October 17, 2005

I havent written anything for two weeks now becuase there wasnt anythign special going on in my life… It was just going to universioty in the morning, going to swim at lunch, eating…then again lectures then comming home…taking a nap if i can and then just doing my homework…

I dont knwow lectures are so boring… They are so theoretical and they make me asleep.. if u go to math or chem or any other course its just deriving freaking millions of equations and just substituting in them.. its simply boring… I just want some excitement…some stimulation…some activeness than just sititng there for a 50 minutes and writing a 50 minute test or exam…

Seriously University needs to bring some energy into lectures…. i hate these deriving equations and memorising them for the exam…i want to know why we use them…whats the application in real life… and the whole purpose of doing it than just memorising and writing an exam..
I dont know sometimes I think whether University was a wrong choice… not becuase of the challenge level but becuase i am not excited about it…its not makign me feel that i should go there everday….

anyways I watched the Hindi actor Sharukh Khans latest documentary named the Inner and Outer Life of Sharukh Khan and i was really thrilled by it… I saw part of me in him… his thoughts…his beliefs…not that i am saying that i am a super hero and a huge star but his principles and all were similar to mine…also the other day I accidently tuned into the Oprah show and there was an interview with Jay Leno…He too had some parts of me …and it was very interesting to watch them.. atlast somebody having my kinda qualities and my kinda thoughts and principles… I am not a guy with sexy looks and a muscular body and sportive and doing the typical guy stuff… i am quite unique or different in my opinion… but when i saw those two’s interviews i had a releif that atleast someone is like me and is successful.. All these days i was thinking that becuase i am not the typical guy i will be not be able to survive the modern society but now i have hope! I feel good about it…

Even when u see your surroundings a girl is always with a typical guy than a UNique or different guy… or people who are succesful are typical than unique.. even in jobs…u have to be that sportive and well built guy than a nerdy type one like me!
anyways just some thoughts that went through my mind!
please give some opinions on what u think!
enjoy

It’s the Alarm! runnnnnnn…

October 3, 2005

AnywaysFire alarm
last week was pretty fun..
We were said that we were having our chem 16% quiz on wednesday at the Galbraith building. Physical chem is the hardest engineering course thats ever made and when you tell the seniors you are taking chem eng they give a nasty smile and say oh then you have to take the nasty physical chem course! Anyways its alright for me…
anyways back to the story…as the seniors scare us about physical chem i was scared of the quiz too as it was only 2 question but it was worth 16% of our final mark….
the quiz started at 5.10 and by 5.30 i couldnt get the firts quesiton but i finished on my second and was tryign hard to figure out the question

Suddenly the fire alarm started to ring and everyone was about to leave but the TA said unless the Prof says to leave we are stuck here…
then in a minute or so the Prof came in a red face and exhausted telling us to turn over our quizzes and leave the building and to have no communication or what so ever wiht any other student… IS THAT DOABLE WITH 400 STUDENTS WRITING THE EXAM???!!! THINK PROF THINK!!!

anyways we were waiting outside in the cold for 30 minutes while the fire department came and investigated the whole place and found nothing…it was a false alarm… Then we were said to go back to our class rooms and when we went back the blackboard said test cancelled! Hurray!!1
But the bad part was that the next quiz is worth 25% of the final mark! Oh boy!

Then the next day while I was travelling on the subway in the morning while reading my chem notes suddenly near sherbourne station a lady started screaming to pull the emrgency alarm! I turned back and saw a Uof T student (knew it form her t shirt) had fainted in the subway and was unconscious on the floor for sometime… as the subway was crowded the people who were standing beyond me didnt have a clue of what was goign on and thought it was some kind of a terrorist attack….they were all shocked… But eventually the train stopped at yonge for sometime while the TTC police came and cleared everything!
Oh boy what a week!
But today when I woke up i found out that i am down with a fever…sniff sniff!
But i did alot of Algebra and Calculus which made me proud! smiles!!!!
anyways back to SKULE tomorrow
have fun guys!
