words of wisdom

Okay this is a quiet week before exams therefore there is no serious tests except the fucking old CDS and small online assignments due. I feel really relaxed because for the first time after 3 months there is no test on Wednesday and it feels weird for some reason. Maybe I got used to the fact of having exams on Wednesdays. The APS presentation went very well and I got really good feedback from other students and the seminar leader. The only thing Im worried is that I dont ask as many question like the others and maybe some marks would be chopped off for that.

Today the weather is very gloomy and for that I am feeling very gloomy as well. I am not havign a fever but it feels as if im having one and therefore i just want to sleep whole day. I thought o finishing alot stuff today but it seems that it wont happen due to my gloominess.

Anyways this is my exam schedule as follows:
APS111- Engineering Strategies and Practice-
December 13th 2005
CHE112- Physical Chemistry- December 5th 2005
CIV101- Statics- December 9th 2005
Mat186- Calculus- December 15th 2005
Mat188- Linear Algebra- December 7th 2005

The good thing about my exam schedule is that the exams end on the 15th which is one day before my birthday and I am crazy happy about it! For some lucky reason my dad asked me what I wanted for my birthday and he himself suggested to buy a cellphone or an IPOD! I was like what happened to you all of a sudden that hes asking me and suggetsing me what I can buy!
Usually its the other way around where I suggest something and then after so much negotiations we end up with something! I really want and IPOD becuase those subway journeys are making me sick just staring at people around me. But a cellphone is a good idea too. Anyways lets see what happens!…..Until that off for studying! weeee…….no just kidding! I am freaking hungry so got to eat….

Alright so I went to watch HP-4 movie for the 7 pm show at STC with my cousins and this is what I thought about the movie…

*They started off well with the Quidditch world cup and I really loved the way they showed the arena and introducing the players and all but they shortened it way too much that you tend to forget whether they even showed the world cup in the movie….I wish that scene was a little bit longer atleast showing some parts and showing the cup presentation and all.

*The importance given to the Tri Wizard tournament tasks were really less… Only the dragon egg task was shown properly but the other ones were quite overshadowed..especially the last task which didnt seem like a task at all except walking and running through the misty maze. They didnt show how the judges sat in front and gave points and all i wished they had all those portrayed becuase it was an international tournament but it didnt feel like that.

*Yule ball sucked. Was expecting more by looking at the movie stills before the movie came out but I dont know for some reason it lacked something.

*Very less importance to all the other charcters except Harry. Was good to see some importance given to brown characters Parvati and Padma Patil.

*Vickor Krum’s acting and Fleur’S qualities explained in the book lacked in the movie and the guy who portrayed Vicktor Krum didnt impress me with his acitng skills. Mad eye moody impressed me. As sophie said Albus irritated me with the rubber band on his beard and his dirty coloured cloak. The other actors were alright…

* The part I truly enjoyed about the movie was after harry and Cedric touch the Tri wizard cup which turned out to be a port key. From that point I really enjoyed the movie with all the anger from Voldermort and the duel between Harry and Voldermort and all the events surrounding it was all good. And the death of Cedric and all the finals elements of the movie were really well done.

Overall a good movie better than the third one. Go watch it guys but dont expect to get the magical fealing, the fun and the eagerness the book gives you.

Yesterday nite was just a memorable day! few days before I saw the annoucement for Skule nite auditions and I was really longing to go and audition for it… The thing witht hsi audition wa sthat we needed to go with partners….therefore I asked Ross to come with me so we both signed up for the auditions!
At first I thought as it was a musical drama the auditon is about how wellw e sing therefore iw a sonly prepared to sing…but when I went there I found out that we have to audition for singing, act out a monologue and a dialogue given by them and also learn a dance routine and perform it!
it was such a surprise!

there was no goign back for me therefore we just signed the papers and we were sent for the first auditon which was dancing!
we went in to the room and this girl taught us some dance routines! I ve never danced for choreographed dance routines with beats to keep in mind! she taught us the dance very well and then we had to perform it to her…we nailed it! she said never has a dance auditon go so smoothly as we danced well! what a releif! and now onto singing auditions…>

the guy warmed up our voices and we did all the me me ma stuff and do re mi stuff and we ahd to perform our individual pieces,,,,then we had to sing this camp song which went like

“fires burning, fires burning! draw nearer draw nearer,
in the glowing, in the glowing. come sing and be merry!”

then atlast to our final audition whihc was acting! for this first we had to do our monologues…then we have to do the monologues repeatedly with different scenarios set by the judges… for me i got a drill sergent, police officer…lottery winner and finally south asian accent whcih i bombed being south asian it didnt sound south asian at all!

anyways it was all a fun experience! never expected any kind of auditions like this! dont knwo whether we are selected for skule nite! lets wait and see!

I guess alot of you would have heard about the movie “WATER” which opened the Toronto International Film Festival. It is a great movie with a great story, theme and message. Go check it out if you can… its only shown in 3 cinemas around Toronto. Its an art film not like the typical Bollywood movie and the music rocks! Again done by my favourite composer A R Rehman. Midterms are done I think I totally screwed on the CIV midterm…I think Ill get the worst mark ive ever got in my entire life for this midterm becuase after doing question one which is worth less than the 2nd and 3rd one I was just staring at the paper as I didnt know where to start or what to write…in the final 5 minutes or so just to receive some part marks I wrote some crap…I am totally screwed in thsi test!
There are so many interesting things and activities happening in university but the problem in joining them is that most of them start at about 7pm and end like about 8 or 9 and by the time I come home it will be like 10 or 11 therefore I cannot do any other work after that…. But I really wanna join some atleast one…

On another note parents really suck…they suck especially when they compare you to other people around you in the same age group.. I just dont understand them…I once tried comparing them to other parents just to see their reaction and they totally got pissed at me and the whole day was hell….but why dont they understand it feels the same when they do it to us…and also when they are comparing they dont compare to averagee or a little bit smart kids they go to extreme prodigies and compare them to us….really pisses me off…
so saturday this arguement came up and I said if they are going to this shit oen more time they better expect me not comming home or they live with the kids they like!
why do they expect every single child should be like the other? i really dont understand…

Oh boy parents should go to school! some sort of school and just knwo how children feel!
